             Kym Lingard – Owner / Psychologist      

Kym is the Principal Psychologist and founder of Fraser Coast Psychology

Kym is a highly experienced Registered Psychologist with over 26 years of practice across the private, government, and schooling sectors. She completed her Bachelor of Science (Psychology) degree in the USA in 1997 and has since developed a diverse career in psychology, including roles with CorpPsych (Brisbane), Disability Services Queensland (across the Darling Downs, Capricornia, and Wide Bay Regions), Fraser Coast Anglican College (Guidance Officer/Psychologist – Hervey Bay), INSIGHT Clinical Psychology and Counselling (private practice – Hervey Bay), and founding Fraser Coast Psychology in 2013.

Kym is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Psi Chi National Honor Society of Psychology in the USA. Her extensive experience spans a wide range of psychological services and interventions, underpinned by evidence-based practices, with a particular focus on children, adolescents, and individuals with disabilities.

Kym is committed to providing high-quality therapy, assessments, reports, and liaising with clients, parents/caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic, comprehensive approach to service delivery. Her expertise enables her to address a wide range of social, emotional, behavioural, and developmental concerns.

Kym has a passion for helping children and adolescents, and her approach focuses on fostering personal growth and promoting overall well-being.

Kym has recently relocated and is currently offering all appointments via telehealth and/or phone for the convenience and flexibility of her clients.


               Tania Van Wijk – Registered Clinical Psychologist        

Warm, Compassionate, and Evidence-Based Care

Tania is a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience supporting adult clients through life’s challenges. She is committed to creating a caring and inclusive space where individuals feel heard, valued, and empowered to live the life they want.

Tania works with a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression and mood disorders, life transitions, trauma, and more. She takes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy-Informed (DBT-informed), Schema Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to develop tailored treatment plans that align with each client’s unique needs.

Outside of her professional work, Tania enjoys time at the beach, embracing her creativity, and connecting with family and friends.


               Trudi McCabe – Registered Psychologist                                                       

Trudi is a Registered Psychologist with 20  years’ experience working with a diverse range of clients and presentations, across the public, community and private sector within the WideBay/Fraser Coast region. .

Trudi delivers a compassionate, professional, person-centred service. She offers an integrated flexible approach to therapy; adopting and implementing the most appropriate therapies, practices, interventions and strategies to best suit the client and their presenting difficulties and needs.  Therapies utilised include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy,  Cognitive Processing Therapy.

Trudi works with a range of presentations including Anxiety, Depression,  Grief and Loss,  Stress including Adjustment and Trauma. She mostly works with adult clients and has a particular interest in older/aging adults.    Please note, Trudi does not conduct psychological assessments.

When not working,  Trudi enjoys time with her family and friends and being outdoors and creative in her spare time.


               Grace Hess – Registered Psychologist

Grace is a Registered Psychologist with a Master’s Degree in Counselling.

Grace takes pride in delivering a professional service that is non-judgemental, compassionate, and values the client’s expertise in their own life and will work with them to meet their needs.

Grace uses techniques from person-centred therapy to help the client feel safe and supported while they make positive changes. She also uses techniques from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, to help the client use healthy skills to cope with the challenges in their life.

Grace works with a range of presentations including Anxiety, Depression, Emotion Dysregulation, OCD, and Stress including Adjustment and Trauma. Grace also sees neurodiverse clients (e.g., Autism and ADHD) and is committed to providing a service that is also neuroaffirming and gender affirming.

Grace sees Children (minimum age of 5), Adolescents and Adults.

Grace lives with her family and pet cat, Stockholm, in Hervey Bay. Grace is a keen runner, coffee and chocolate advocate and supporter of her forever ‘rebuilding’ AFL team, the West Coast Eagles.
